Call for Entries: Yay! Crozet! Children's Art Contest and Exhibition
Do you love Crozet? Show us through your art!
We are excited to announce the Yay! Crozet! Children's Art Contest and Exhibition.
We want to see what YOU love about Crozet—whether it’s a person, place, thing, memory, event, pet, or the beauty of nature.
Submission Guidelines
Open to all K-12 students from Brownsville, Crozet, Ivy, Murray, Henley, and WAHS.
K-12 students of local private schools are welcome to apply but MUST reside in Western Albemarle County.
Artwork must be able to hang on a wall but does not need to be two-dimensional.
One original submission per student (AI-generated art will not be accepted).
Important Dates
Submissions Open: Saturday, March 8th
Submission Deadline: Saturday, April 5th
Winners Announced: Friday, May 2nd
Exhibition: May 2nd – June 30th.
How to Submit
Email submissions to yaycrozet@gmail.com
Submissions should include:
Artist’s name, age, and school
Artwork title and medium
A sentence or two explaining the artwork
A photo of the piece (Try your best to take good photographs of your artwork!)
Once you have submitted your artwork via email, bring your submission to Rose’s Inspiration Station during business hours until April 5th. Your artwork will be included in the Yay! Crozet! Art Exhibit from May 2nd – June 30th.
Clearly write on the back of the artwork:
Artist’s name
Artwork title
Guardian’s email address and phone number
Judging & Awards
Submissions will be judged by Sigird Eilertson, Arts Specialist with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Virginia, based on Creativity, Effort, Technique, and Impact.
Submissions will be judged by age group:
Lower Elementary (K-2nd Grade)
Upper Elementary (3rd - 5th Grade)
Middle School
High School
Prizes:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for each age group
1st Place - $25 Gift Certificate to Rose’s Inspiration Station
2nd Place - $20 Gift Certificate to The Art Box and Creative Framing
3rd Place - $10 Gift Certificate to Crozet Creamery
Exhibition Details
All entries will be displayed at the Hallway Gallery in Piedmont Place from May 2nd – June 30th.
